Coffee has a history that stretches back hundreds of years. During our Introduction to Coffee Course, we will trace the journey of the bean through history, looking at the various varieties that are grown to produce the blends we know and love, and examining each step of the physical journey from the tree to the cup.

Don’t worry that it’s just learning, on the Introduction to Coffee course it’s more important that you can recognise the tastes behind the theories. Cupping is how the professionals taste and assess coffee, and by the end of the day you will have learnt how to taste coffee properly, allowing you to taste the variety of flavours from around the world.

At the end of the Introduction to Coffee course you will have learnt about the theory of coffee, and even better you will leave with the skills to brew a great cup of coffee at home, for you and your family and friends, and not just one or two drinks, but the range of drinks commonly found on a menu.

The coffees we discuss and taste in the Introduction to Coffee course may be from foreign climes, but we are home grown and local. Perfectly situated for Glasgow and Edinburgh we offer coffee and barista training. Our Academy is located in Livingston, West Lothian, although we can tailor courses to your location. We offer the SCA modules and diploma, meaning you gain a recognised coffee qualification to allow you to continue on your chosen career path. All our courses are hands on and give you the chance to learn the most important part of coffee brewing, the tasting.
